Our son Israel appeared completely healthy — smiling, active, and thriving. But beneath the surface, his heart was silently struggling. A routine checkup revealed a rare and serious Congenital Heart Defect:  Though he shows no visible symptoms, the risk is life-threatening if left untreated. We have a very small window to act, and his doctors advised that he undergo a balloon valvuloplasty procedure immediately to prevent heart failure. Time is critical. 

Typically his condition causes symptoms like:

• Fatigue or poor feeding

• Blue lips or fingernails (cyanosis)

• Rapid breathing

• Shortness of breath during feeding or crying

• Delayed growth or development

Israel has NONE of these. That’s what makes his case so rare but urgent — this is a silent danger. If we had waited for symptoms, it may have been too late. His doctors explained that his heart is working harder than it should, and if left untreated, it could lead to heart failure without warning. That’s why we must act now, while he’s still strong

Israel is our 7-month-old miracle — a happy, thriving baby with no outward signs of illness. But inside, his heart is silently fighting . He has TWO rare congenital heart defect, and without his procedure, his life is at risk. We need to raise $20,000 by July 3rd to cover his procedure at Holtz Children’s Hospital and other expenses. Despite his condition, Israel has achieved milestones earlier than most babies. He sat up independently at 4 months, stood with support by 5 months, and began climbing out of his car seat at 6 months with incredible strength. Now at 7 months, he’s even taking small steps. His resilience reminds us every day why we must fight for him with everything we have.

We chose Holtz Children’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial because of their reputation for excellence in pediatric heart care. Their team is known for treating rare and complex congenital heart defects. Israel is under the care of two exceptional pediatric cardiologists:

• Dr. Philippe Zegelbone, who officially diagnosed Israel’s condition with precision and compassion, and

• Dr. Satinder K. Sandhu, a leading interventional cardiologist at UHealth, who will be performing Israel’s procedure.

These doctors were chosen prayerfully and purposefully. We believe they were divinely placed in Israel’s journey — and we trust them.
